We took a studio in Venice for the whole of one summer and I did several paintings of the canal below the studio window. Whilst we were there, my son Robin and his wife Stephanie came to stay and brought these red lilies. I did a painting from this drawing, which hangs in our kitchen at Colaton Raleigh..
