1/48 scale model 1890. The George W Washburn was launched by the Cornell Steamboat Company to move barges with cargo like stones, sand and bricks on the Hudson River between Albany and New York City. During her early years , she was considered the fastest tug on the Hudson. 
 
Since she took on paying passengers , her appearance was kept up. It was said that a Cornell Steamboat could be noticed from great distances by its yellow & black smoke stacks.
 
Sad to say , the George W Washburnand Cornell Steamboat Company no longer exist.
 
The kit cost is circa £170.00 to value the time taken to assemble the laser cut pieces who knows, this much loved model is ready to place on that stand in your study, hallway or lounge.
